A comparison of the main modes by transit time, cost, ideal volume and best use case.
| Modal | Avg. transit time | Relative cost | Ideal volume / weight | Best use case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ocean | 25–45 days | Low | Large volumes and heavy cargo | Large-scale import/export (FCL and LCL). |
| Air | 1–7 days | High | Low volume e alto valor agregado | Urgency, perishables, samples and high-value cargo. |
| Road / Cabotage | 3–15 days | Medium | Medium volume on regional routes | Mercosur, coastal cabotage and domestic distribution. |
Transit times and costs are average market references and vary by route, origin, destination and cargo characteristics.
Many foreign-trade operations combine two or more modes — ocean, air, road, rail or inland waterway. Vision Log coordinates these steps with carriers, airlines, hauliers and terminals, following each leg from the start to the end of the chain.
In practice, this means using the best of each mode: the economy of ocean freight on long sea legs, the speed of air on critical connections and the reach of road and cabotage on the last mile. The result is a route planned for the cargo, with fewer handling steps and more predictable timing.
Ocean · air · road · cabotage, combined according to the needs of each operation.

OEA — Operador Econômico Autorizado is the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service program that certifies foreign-trade companies demonstrating compliance with security and customs-compliance criteria. It follows the World Customs Organization’s AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) concept.
Vision Log is currently in the OEA certification process. Once certified, applicable benefits will depend on the certification modality granted and on the relevant Mutual Recognition Agreements.
Certified companies may receive differentiated treatment in clearance, according to the modality granted.
Preparing for OEA involves documented processes, cargo control and risk management.
Standardized processes contribute to more predictable operations.
In countries with a Mutual Recognition Agreement in force with Brazil, the certification may be recognized by that customs authority.

Timing depends on the operation, documents, inspection channel, agency approvals, cargo type and mode — there is no single clearance time.
Consignee and importer details, a consistent invoice and packing list, HS/NCM classification and any required licenses.
Confirming cargo readiness, dimensions and weight before booking also avoids changes and extra costs.
Because total logistics cost includes origin and destination charges, storage, demurrage, insurance, duties and the cost of delays.
A low rate with long transit, transshipments or short free time can end up costing more once the cargo reaches Brazil.
